999 Nurse/Paramedic – EAST

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb)

999 Clinician (Nurse/Paramedic) – Full and Part time available

Are you a qualified and experienced Nurse or Paramedic looking to use your skills in a different way?

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) are recruiting Nurse and Paramedic clinicians to work as part of our 999 Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs) team based in Crawley, West Sussex or Coxheath, Kent or across both sites.

If you are a qualified Nurse or Paramedic who has worked in a telephone clinical triage service, acute hospital, chronic, community, out-of-hospital or primary care setting and are confident assessing or referring patients to alternative services and interacting with patients, then we’d love to hear from you.

Working full as part of our 24/7 multi-disciplinary clinical team across our Emergency Operations centres, you will provide regional clinical oversight for patients that access urgent & emergency care through 999.

Responsible for providing oversight, effect handling and support for incoming 999 calls, you will undertake remote telephone triage assessments of our patients to ensure they access the most appropriate care pathways to meet their needs. You’ll use your clinical skills to provide support and clinical oversight of patients through the Trust’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and ensure that patient safety is prioritised and maintained from 999 point of contact to patients reaching definitive care. Alongside other members of the EOC clinical team, you may also support front-line clinical colleagues with remote collaborative decision making to optimise patient flow and sign post patients to appropriate and alternative community care providers.

Full training and support will be provided to make it possible for you to transition into this exciting role so that you can make a big difference to our patients.

SECAmb is at an exciting stage of its development, we are leading the way in how we care for patients that contact us through our 999 contact centres. We offer full or part-time opportunities, along with a range of excellent benefits including the NHS pension scheme, up to 33 days Annual leave (exclusive of bank holidays), training and development opportunities, access to NHS discounts, Car Lease Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, NHS Mortgages and Childcare Vouchers.
