An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, educated theatre practitioner to advance their career in a Band 6 role in Main Theatres at QEQM Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The operating departments includes 10 operating theatres across 3 suites.

The theatres provide an operating service to the following clinical specialities:

Trauma and Orthopaedics,

Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Gynae Oncology

Colorectal

Breast

General Surgery

CEPOD

The position is a full time, permanent post working 37.5 hours per week including out of hours

The post holder will assist leading in the specialist clinical area of Theatres and maintain high standards of patient care, for a wide variety of procedures.

We are looking for an excellent candidate that wants to develop their leadership skills and expand their experience in the management of theatre departments.

The post holder will take part in reviewing both nursing and theatre practice and implement appropriate changes based on research/best practice.

Effective role modelling and teaching students and new members of the team are essential.  Providing effective communication with all disciplines both within and out of the operating department.

Candidates will be expected to co-ordinate activities on a shift basis.
